Hiring a Motorhome: How it Works

Basic Information

Our motorhomes come complete with most things you will need for your motorhome holiday, all you’ll (generally) need to bring is bedding and towels (or you can hire this from us) and your luggage.
The hire price includes fully comprehensive vehicle insurance for UK use and breakdown insurance. European use can be arranged at an additional cost.
The motorhomes come with electric hook up cables, water filler hoses and gas bottles. Our motorhomes are very self sufficient, fitted with leisure batteries, solar panels, fresh water and waste water tanks. This gives customers the flexibility to ‘wild camp’ away from campsites if they wish. Due to the way our motorhomes are kitted out you can be quite self sufficient, the hot water, heating, fridge, TV, etc all work without electric hook up. The only items which will not work when you are not hooked up to electric is anything you bring along yourselves operating from a 3-pin plug (hairdryers, laptops, etc – bring along your in car mobile phone charger if intending to wild camp!) We would recommend, for those wishing to experience wild camping, that you also mix this with some reservations at campsites to allow you to fill up with water, empty your loo, etc.

Insurance Stipulations for any Driver

The hirer or any other driver must be between the ages of 25 and 75 years of age unless otherwise agreed by the Insurer. Other insurance stipulations will apply and will be advised prior to booking.
If you have any health concerns which may affect the insurance, if you’ve had an accident or a claim on any insurance policy, or if you have penalties/endorsements on your licence, then please let us know and we can discuss this with you

Making a booking

Simply email us with your booking requirements – the dates that you’re interested in and any extras you require.
We’ll email you back confirming prices, a booking form, and our Terms and Conditions.
Simply fill in the Booking Form and send it back to us with your deposit. Your booking will then be confirmed.
The balancing payment is due 6 weeks before the date of hire.
A damage/security deposit is due before the motorhome is collected. This is £600 and will be repaid to you once the motorhome has been returned to us and checked as being in the same condition to which it left us.

Motorhome Collection

Most of our customers arrive by car when collecting one of the motorhomes and leave their car parked with us for the duration of their hire. Vehicles are left on our private driveway at your own risk.
For customers arriving by train to Carlisle train station we suggest using a taxi from the taxi rank directly outside the train station. A taxi to us should cost in the region of £15 each way. We may be able to collect you depending on the number of passengers and our other commitments – please ask and we’ll check. .
We can also arrange a quotation from a third party to collect you from airports, including Newcastle, Manchester and Glasgow.
Collection is at 4pm on the first day of hire. Please allow at least an hour to be shown how everything works and to complete the necessary documentation (and load the motorhome up with all of your belongings!)

Motorhome Return

The motorhome should be returned on the final hire date by the time specified on your booking form, 11am. Any late returns will be penalised in accordance with the Terms and Conditions as this will disrupt the next hirers.
The motorhome must be returned in the same condition to which it left us.
